As Unique As You Are
About the Artist, Becky
I started making jewelry in 2000 for myself. One day my favorite necklace broke and I tried my hand at fixing it. I realized that I really enjoyed the jewelry creation process. I'm a self-taught designer through books, web sites and just plain old experimentation, all on my own. The idea of making my own jewelry and expressing myself with it made me just fall in love with the creation process.
I am not sure that I have a definite style. My artistic style varies depending on what inspires me and I can say that almost everything around me, inspires me. Sometimes I see a gemstone, a bead, a color, or combination of colors and it just speaks to me. It can be sometimes simple, sometimes complex, but always with character. It is always unique. I love to be able to express myself with my jewelry.
I love working with gemstones, lamp work beads, crystals, beads, semi-precious stones, seed beads, stainless steel and sterling silver. I just love about anything I can get my hands on. I also enjoy working with wire.
After God and my family, jewelry making plays a big part of my life. I love the idea of making something special for someone. There is a little bit of me in every piece of jewelry I make. Every piece is as unique as the wearer. The creations and designs are never-ending. I love seeing other people smile when they see or purchase something I have made. I simply look forward to many more years of making beautiful things.
